Not So Smitten With Being Bitten

  • smitten with being bitten

I'm sure by now there are plenty of other people who are, like me, fed up of vampires.

I really enjoy the House of Night series and I loved the Twilight series even more, but when people refuse to shut up about "OH I'M SO TEAM EDWARD" or "I CAN'T BELIEVE BELLA DID THAT" then it really does begin to tick you off.

So I think it's time publishers and authors alike started to move on from from the vampire hype and began looking into changing the scene and finding a different genre to get teens excited about: Aliens.

Now I'm not talking about weirdly thin green people with three eyes coming to Earth to kill everyone in an apocalyptic style, although it is such a vast genre that could be one possibility. I reckon it's time for an author to make like Stephenie Meyer and completely redefine aliens for us.

Of course, Stephenie Meyer has already tried to get us all into aliens with her new book, The Host, but I couldn't even get half way through! It was so tedious and I kept thinking "It's OK, Twilight wasn't too interesting at the start" but once you're about 100 pages in you're beginning to wonder where the real story begins.

So we must tell the masses "THE ALIENS ARE COMING!!!"

Interesting thing that vampires are taking oVer the cinema while zombies are storming our games. I,m not saying this is a bad thing, but when someone makes an entire film mocking twilight that people are getting bored of vampires. If you want great vampires in books read Dracula or Skullduggery Pleasent:Playing with Fire

Got something to say?
