Is The X Factor Killing The Industry?

The X Factor is one of Britain's highest rated television shows, bringing in 15,043 viewers on Sunday evenings results shows, and producing new music artists every year.

The aim of the show? To create new, upcoming artists that the public can vote for, depending on who their favourite person is to win.

However, over the past year we have seen some rebellion against the popular TV show, with the public making desperate attempts to destroy The X Factor's reputation.

A couple on Facebook created a group that caught the attention of many social network users, the aim being to guarantee Joe McElderry did not win the Christmas number one, and instead encouraged the public to vote for Rage Against The Machine in its place.

This group was successful, and many rejoiced that The X Factor did not squash the creativity of yet another artist that has worked a lot harder to establish their names in the music industry.

If we look at the artists that have been produced by The X Factor, what we will see is a popular solo artist or band which are becoming very successful, however what we will miss is the creativity of a person or group that has taken the time to write their own songs and work hard to be where they are today.

It seems to me that X Factor is full of replicants that need to be stopped and we need to rejoice in the once interesting, individual minds of artists that deserve to be recognised.
