YOUNG PEOPLE’S ACHIEVEMENT
CELEBRATION EVENT
Monday the 1st November saw the start of Youth Work Week 2010. The theme for this year was “Celebrating Great Youth Work”.
The Swansea Youth Service Central Team held a celebration event at the
Blaen – Y – Maes Young Peoples Support Centre situated on Portmead Avenue, to recognise the achievements and participation of Young People over the previous 12 months.
The Central Team facilitate youth work across a wide range of services, including community activities and school youth work, from Blaen Y Maes and Penlan areas, to the outskirts of landore.
Young people from all across the central area were invited to attend the event to celebrate their contribution to projects and activities that they had been involved in.
These projects include:-
• Pentrehafod School ASDAN Award Group.
• It’s A Knockout Event.
• Pentrehafod Young people attending the Borfa Residential Week.
• Swansea Spoof Awards. (lady Gaga entry from the Central Area won the event).
• Swansea Big Brother Event.
• Click Click Snap Editing Group
• Blaen Y Maes Summer programme.
• Crazy computer Group.
• Blaen Y Maes Explode Dance Group
• Duke of Edinburgh Award Groups.
• Blaen Y Maes Wildlife Researchers.
The Central Area team would like to congratulate, and thank all the young people that have taken part in this year’s activities and events, both locally and County wide, and look forward to working with you again in 2011.
