Culture is a very broad term, and isn’t easy to define as it can mean different things to different people. It can refer to everything that makes up the identity of a country or area that has been passed on to us from a previous generation. It is constantly changing and societies can have different cultures in different periods of time. Products of our culture can include many different elements including music, art, fashion, theatre, architecture, literature, language, cookery.
Wales has a very rich culture. We have our own language and traditions of poetry and song expressed through the Eisteddfod. There is a Welsh national dress, a Welsh national anthem and many Welsh buildings like ancient castles.
All of these aspects make up our heritage, and a country's heritage is an important part of people's identity.
