Peter Finnemore is one of Wales’s leading contemporary artists. He is best known for his video and photographic works which he has exhibited throughout Wales and internationally. He uses his family house and garden in West Wales to stage scenarios that address issues of identity and landscape, exploring pertinent themes such as globalisation, territory and nationhood. In his photographs and short films, he is often dressed in combat gear as he acts out various scenarios which sometimes feature his friends, family and pets. The resulting films are sometimes funny, sublime, but always poignant and telling of our contemporary condition. In this special screening Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is showing a number of recent acquisitions to its collection.
