The annual cultural festival, the National Eisteddfod took place this year at the old steelworks site in Ebbw Vale. For those that don't know what the festival is all about, it's the largest cultural event of its kind in Europe, taking place in a different location in Wales every year. During the week long celebrations there are talent competitions, concerts, gigs, plays and exhibitions.

In addition to the competitions and performances, organisations from every corner of Wales gather together to promote and raise awareness of their work.

The CLIC team were there in force promoting the website and encouraging young people to become involved with various activities. During the week long festival CLIC shared a stand with Meic – the national information, advice and advocacy helpline for children and young people in Wales. The teams were supported by a celebrity duck, Hana from the popular S4C children’s TV programme ‘Hana’s Helpline’ (Holi Hana in Welsh). The programme is about a helpline for farmyard animals that has been broadcast in many different languages all over the world.

CLIC and Meic ran competitions with some lucky children and young people winning ipods in a draw at the end of the week.
